The Foundation for Art & Psychoanalysis in association with the Arab British Centre and Shubbak are pleased to present a screening of Noir Barakat’s short films With Time: Georgette Saliba Part 1 & 2. The screening will be followed by a discussion of the film with psychoanalyst Lucia Corti and the artist (who will join the conversation remotely).
The With Time... film series is an intimate portrayal of residents affected by the devastating explosion in the Port of Beirut in 2020. For this series of work, photographer and film director Noir Barakat has taken inspiration from Nikita Mikhalkov’s documentary Anna 6-18, in which the filmmaker asks his daughter the same set of questions throughout a decade. Barakat set himself the task of interviewing his subjects across an extended period. In so doing, he investigates how time is able to shape and influence one’s personal understanding of tragedy and destruction.
Georgette Saliba is the latest film from the With Time series to be released. The series was commissioned by the Foundation for Art & Psychoanalysis for our Oral History Collection
